CHURCH YOUTH GROUP SHOWS

Church Youth Groups everywhere enjoy David Swanson's stage hypnotism shows for church youth group lock-in parties held throughout the year. This very appealing activity is clean in nature (rated G) and is the perfect entertainment activity for both junior high and senior high school aged youth groups! Your church will love David's fun and unique youth group shows! These shows can be done for groups as small as 25 kids, but group sizes of over 75 kids are recommended for best effect. Some church youth groups combine with other churches for to make this a larger community event!

David also offers a separate type of hypnotism show that teaches youth groups the power of positive thinking while demonstrating the power of the inner mind through a fun hypnotism demonstration. CLIENT HYPNOSIS

David Swanson is a Certified Hypnotist through the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) and works with individual clients for everyday common problems such as smoking cessation, weight loss, confidence, sports enhancement and public speaking. For many people, hypnotism is the one technique that worked for them when all other methods have failed.

David teaches that anyone can learn to change at anytime by changing their own beliefs about themselves. Hypnosis however reaches that more powerful area of the mind (called the subconscious mind) where the most powerful changes can take place. If you've been trying to make personal changes but still have not achieved your goals, perhaps hypnosis is the key for you to finally make them happen.

Currently David works with hypnosis clients at their homes and at churches. Group hypnosis is offered to church groups and community centers as well.

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

Hypnosis is a natural "state" of mind that we all pass in and out of daily. The hypnotic state exists between the two states of mind that we know best: "awake" and "asleep". Although most hypnotists like to use the word "sleep" in hypnosis inductions and shows, people who are hypnotized are not actually asleep, but are in an altered state of consciousness.

A generally accepted model of the mind suggests that we have two minds: a conscious "thinking" mind and a very powerful "subconscious" mind that controls our bodily functions and houses all of our memories, behaviors and feelings. When a person is in hypnosis, the conscious mind is in a state of abeyance, which exposes more to the surface the subconscious mind.

Proportionately the subconscious mind is larger and more powerful than is the conscious mind. It is also a more literal mind and tends to accept suggestions far easier than that of the conscious mind as long as they do not oppose deeply seated religious, moral or ethical values.

Since this mind controls all of the five senses, the hypnotized person will experience hypnotic suggestion as if they are reality. If a hypnotist suggest that it is cold in the room, hypnotized people will begin to shiver. If a fly is suggested to land on their arm, they will see it, feel it and shoo it away. For hypnotism entertainment shows purposes, it all adds to be rather entertaining and fascinating experience. Don't worry about the people in hypnosis who are volunteering during these exhibitions; they are having a highly relaxing and wonderfully interesting experience and are highly praised by the audiences when the hypnotism show is finished. Stage hypnotists must always keep in mind the great reality to which the hypnotized people are experiencing while at the same time assuring their comfort and safety on stage.
